I need a craft room!

I've been busy sewing and creating cute stuff and I need to get organized! I lay my scissors down and then one second later I can't find them because I've laid them on top of scrap fabric that I just cut away-- one example. I have ribbon mixed in with buttons and glue mixed in with pins. I have what I need but not in the places I need them. It is time to get organized and I think I'm going to need some cleaver organizing skills, freakish type help!
First on the agenda would be to move the sweat shop inside -- currently I reside in the garage. Not good in the winter, not good in the summer!
If it were up to me I would claim the upstairs and take over, but I'm married and for some reason my husband wants to have a say in the only extra space in our 1600 sq.ft. home.

Here are a couple of pics of what I would LOVE to do. Husband if you ever read this, a surprise craft room would be the most amazing thing ever!!!!! Mother's day is coming up!!!!

If you know of any inexpensive tricks to organizing, because you are a freakish organizer, please let me know!!! Share anything:)

All freak organizers please help!

Are you a true lover of bacon? you will be tested!

I love bacon for breakfast or on a sandwich. I even love the bacon aroma when it's cooking in a skillet right before I sit down to eat it.
However, Im not so sure I love it so much that I would create a bacon candle to light up before guests arrive. Would you?
If so, here are some DIY directions for a bacon candle. Yummy, enjoy!

This could totally be a fun project!

I saw this on Yahoo this morning and love the idea of bad dress gone good. This little lady has taken bad, old, outdated and large to a new level of greatness with a couple of snips and stitches. This makes me want to take a trip to Goodwill and try this out.
Check out her blog and the amazing little outfits she has created http://newdressaday.wordpress.com/

Have a great day!

Hostess Aprons

I chose to make hostess aprons for my baby shower hostess gifts! I followed the instructions from Stop Staring and Start Sewing blog. I was pleased with how they came out especially since I have not done anything like them before. I can admit they were far from perfect but they still looked pretty adorable (well at least I thought). I can brag a little, right?
Here are my beautiful hostesses in their little hostess aprons. Thanks girls!

Me (31 weeks) and the girls:)

Thinking outside of the box

I saw this really cute idea I fell in love with for a wedding present (which was how it was used on the blog I found it) or maybe a wedding gift or maybe an anniversary gift... lots of options:)

Make or purchase a wine box, each person writes a love letter, purchase a wine that will mature over time, place everything inside the box and nail it shut!
If you and the significant other ever get into fight that makes you want to walk away from each other. Go to the box, drink the bottle of wine and read the love letters to each other. Problem Solved! Well at least for the night:)
Love It!~
Happy Monday

Weekend Project

So I have been very eager to get Ella's room together and done. However, it seems like I am twiddling my thumbs waiting on this or that. The bedding isn't here yet, Mother-in-law is making the curtains and providing the teacups for the chandelier, mom has the chandelier, John has to hang a mirror, I need to get a rug and the list could go on...
So feeling overwhelmed with the blank slate I keep being reminded of each time I walk into her room... I all of a sudden decided to paint a tree on the wall.
Husband was not on my side and was not as optimistic as I happened to be. He gave me the line, "If you mess it up you are fixing it."
Of course I was not worried with what he had to say, I was set on painting a tree that day!
The story has a happy ending, the tree came out great! Here is a look of where I started and how the tree turned out. I am pretty happy with the outcome and so is the hubs!
 Complete!

I wanna make this

I have recently seen quite a few homemade baby mobiles and I think I just may be up to the task of creating one on my own, or for another mommy to be:)

I really like these little birds, add a little ribbon and you have a precious mobile. Easy right!
Here is a look at the little birds and even better Spool has provided a free pattern.

Download the PDF pattern on the Spool blog.

Enjoy!

DIY project

The one project I plan on personally signing up for to complete Ella's room is the chandelier.

Here is the final product. Found on Design Dazzle blog

Looks pretty easy, as long as J can drill through the bottom of the tea cups!  Does anyone else know of any cute DIY chandelier ideas?

February Already

Hello February, I wasn't expecting you so soon!
I can't believe January is already over. February is a short month so it is sure to fly by as well.
Something to look forward to in February... Cards, Candy and Love. I'm one of those people who doesn't really think Valentines day is that sweet. I don't think you should need a date on the calendar to tell me or show me you love me. You better love me everyday! Well...If I've given you a reason of course like you are close to me, family or married to me;)
But if you are a sucker for the Hallmark created holiday (and so many are) here is a funny DIY gift for your sweet thang.

This would be an easy make and funny for any person!

I'm thinking of having a small Valentines Dinner party??? Maybe, maybe not. Just another reason to get together with the friends you love the most;)

So I have been creating inexpensive centerpieces for the social event!

The Holidays keep me busy, crafting and sewing little things here and there. Here is a peep show into what Ive checked off the list of Christmas crafts... Cuteness is so addictive. I love to create!
