I need a craft room!

I've been busy sewing and creating cute stuff and I need to get organized! I lay my scissors down and then one second later I can't find them because I've laid them on top of scrap fabric that I just cut away-- one example. I have ribbon mixed in with buttons and glue mixed in with pins. I have what I need but not in the places I need them. It is time to get organized and I think I'm going to need some cleaver organizing skills, freakish type help!
First on the agenda would be to move the sweat shop inside -- currently I reside in the garage. Not good in the winter, not good in the summer!
If it were up to me I would claim the upstairs and take over, but I'm married and for some reason my husband wants to have a say in the only extra space in our 1600 sq.ft. home.

Here are a couple of pics of what I would LOVE to do. Husband if you ever read this, a surprise craft room would be the most amazing thing ever!!!!! Mother's day is coming up!!!!

If you know of any inexpensive tricks to organizing, because you are a freakish organizer, please let me know!!! Share anything:)

All freak organizers please help!

Weekend Project

So I have been very eager to get Ella's room together and done. However, it seems like I am twiddling my thumbs waiting on this or that. The bedding isn't here yet, Mother-in-law is making the curtains and providing the teacups for the chandelier, mom has the chandelier, John has to hang a mirror, I need to get a rug and the list could go on...
So feeling overwhelmed with the blank slate I keep being reminded of each time I walk into her room... I all of a sudden decided to paint a tree on the wall.
Husband was not on my side and was not as optimistic as I happened to be. He gave me the line, "If you mess it up you are fixing it."
Of course I was not worried with what he had to say, I was set on painting a tree that day!
The story has a happy ending, the tree came out great! Here is a look of where I started and how the tree turned out. I am pretty happy with the outcome and so is the hubs!
 Complete!

The Fabrics have been choosen!

I like to sew, however when it came to Ella's baby bedding I knew this was not a task for me! I wasn't a fan of most of the sets I saw in stores so I decided to have her bedding made:) It's my first I can do that!

I am having the bedding made at Fabric Gallery, which has a great selection of fabrics and the staff is top notch!

Here is a peek at the fabrics I have chosen. I'm going for a modern shabby chic:)

DIY project

The one project I plan on personally signing up for to complete Ella's room is the chandelier.

Here is the final product. Found on Design Dazzle blog

Looks pretty easy, as long as J can drill through the bottom of the tea cups!  Does anyone else know of any cute DIY chandelier ideas?

All the best,

The count down is on!

This Friday, I find out boy or girl!!! I am super excited to start shopping for this and that and getting the room ready:)
John and I have been brainstorming room ideas. Well, I've been brainstorming and then letting John in on the ideas, however come to find out he has quite a few of his own if it is a boy! (imagine that, John having an opinion!)
There is a ton of stuff I like for the room, but my one rule is NO THEMES. Yes, they can be cute if done right however I just want to stick to something else. I have made John aware of the one rule and his response was okay, "what about bats and footballs on the wall" I respond, "Uh, John that is a sports Theme." He just doesn't get my no theme rule, all of his ideas revolve around a theme. I want his input when it comes to the room, however I do not want the typical boy room themes!
He has given me full reign if it's a girl he only wants input if it's a boy - Oh the dilema;)

Here are a couple of the rooms I like:)
All of these designs are featured on Design Dazzle Blog. What do you think?

Decorate Christmas Style!

The girls are coming over for a night of good conversation, a little wine and a lot of memories (all of which make me happy)
So I have been creating inexpensive centerpieces for the social event!

The Holidays keep me busy, crafting and sewing little things here and there. Here is a peep show into what Ive checked off the list of Christmas crafts... Cuteness is so addictive. I love to create!

Here are some pics.

Spread the Cheer!

I have lots of wine corks from bartending in the past... I need to find a use for them!
An option like this could be very glam...

Thanksgiving has come and gone (and boy was it grand!). Now it's officially time to start decorating the homestead with holiday decor galore:) ( i like that).
I can check one thing off the list...I have put up the tree. I want to be creative and frugal, so hand crafted decor will definitely be the case this year. I'm going to try to spruce up what I used last year with extra glitter, glam and ribbon of course!
My little crafting list consists of... 1. center pieces for the table 2. Wreath for the door 3. holiday runner for the kitchen edge 4. Second hand candle sticks made fabulous again. And, its all up to me to make it happen!
Im having the girls over Saturday for a much needed night of catching up! Very excited!
I believe my inspiration this year will be...
